2. Plasma Monitor
Plasma is a flat-screen display emisif in which light is produced by a phosphor excited by a plasma discharge between two flat glass. Gas is released cargo contain no mercury (as opposed to AMLCD), a mixture of noble gases (neon and xenon) is used. Gas mixture is difficult to react and not at all dangerous.
plasma display created at the University of Illinois by Donald L. Bitzer and H. Gene Slottow in 1964 for the PLATO Computer System. Panel original monochrome (usually orange or green) enjoying increasing use in the early 1970s because of the look is strong and does not need a memory circuit and refreshment. However, followed by lack of sales due to the development of semiconductor memory made CRT display is very cheap in the late 1970's. Starting from PhD Larry Weber of the University of Illinois in 1975 who managed to make a color plasma display, and finally succeeded in achieving that goal in 1995. Now this is very bright and wide viewing angles of colored panels plasma have caused this display to regain popularity.
